Table tennis scoring on your watch
Table tennis counts in plain numbers, and Courtovo counts it that way: a race to 11, two clear, best of three, five or seven.
How table tennis is scored
A game goes to 11 points and must be won by two, so 11-9 is a game and 10-10 goes on until one side leads by two. A match is the best of three, five or seven games.
Serve changes every two points — and every single point from 10-10 onwards. That switch is the part a scorekeeper has to know, because from 10-10 the pattern that held for the whole game stops holding.
What Courtovo counts
Three presets: best of five, best of seven and best of three, all to 11 with the two-point margin. The serve is derived from the point log rather than from a schedule, so it survives an undo — take a point back and the server goes back with it.
There is no game inside a set here, so the screen shows 11-9 rather than 40-30, and the statistics drop the figures that only mean something on a tennis ladder.
It tells you when to change ends: after every game, and at 5 in the last possible game — the mid-game change nobody remembers until the rally after it. Two buzzes and the ⇄ mark, as in tennis.
On the wrist
A rally is short and the next serve is immediate, so the input has to be one motion: a click of the bezel, or a tap on your half of the screen. See the score screen.
