Pickleball scoring on your watch
Courtovo counts pickleball with rally scoring — every rally a point — to 11 or to 15, and says plainly that it does not count the traditional side-out game.
How pickleball is scored
Under rally scoring a game goes to 11 points, won by two, best of three; a single game to 15 is the other common length. Whoever wins the rally scores it and serves next.
The traditional game is different: only the serving side can score, the serve passes between two partners before it goes to the other side, and the score is called as three numbers rather than two.
What Courtovo counts
Best of three to 11, and one game to 15 — both rally scoring, both with the two-point margin.
Traditional side-out scoring is deliberately absent. Under it a rally won is not always a point, which this app's event log cannot express, and adding a way to record the rallies would make the traditional game representable without making it correct — the server number sequence comes with it, and a watch that counts faithfully while naming the wrong server is worse than one that says it does not do this yet. If that is the game you play, tell us and it moves up the list.
It tells you when to switch sides: after every game, and in the deciding game when a team first reaches 6 of 11 — or 8, in the single game to 15. Two buzzes and the ⇄ mark.
